Thats the ugliest running shoe l have ever seenn 😅

My job requires me to stand all day in one place. It’s rare that I have a chance to walk. I’m thinking of getting ASICS but can’t decide between Nimbus, Kyano and Cumulus. From some research, Hoka seems nice. But I also want to use the shoe for running and walking. But most importantly, I don’t want foot pain while standing all day. And I have flat feet. Can you recommend which one should I get please?

So... The important thing is the shoes contain an artificial high arch. I have a naturally high arch innmy feet but still found this strange. I have 4e wide feet and topo shoes are considerably narrower than my usual shoes. The cyclone 2 is quite bouncy but not propulsive at all. If you walk in the cyclone 2 they are very uncomfortably and bounce your feet in any random directions at the same time. If you run fast in them they do usually bounce your feet forward! The ultrafly 4 has no bounce and feels fine for walking (ignoring the narrow fit and the hard high arch) but definitely very uncomfortable for running in.

I just bought these as an everyday wear to the office and lifting in my home gym after work. Should be a lot better than my $30 Nikes that squeak. lol.

I just switched from the Arahi to the Gaviota. The Arahi wide was still narrow on me and I switched to a regular Gaviota, no pain in feeling squished into the shoe and so cushiony!!!

I have the first two. In my opinion I will not buy again. My feet get tired from prolonged use. I hate running with the Cloud monster my feet are not happy after a few miles. 😢 I tired giving ON a chance but no thanks.

Jeezus, $145 for a running shoe that just has compression molded EVA as its mid-sole? Where's the technology i.e. air, gel, etc etc.? A Nike Pegasus would go for less than $70 in 1995 and all it had was compression molded EVA in its midsole.

I love this shoe, but the quality is garbage... Bought 3 pair and they all blow out at the sides. It's a common complaint for this shoe.

I went a half size bigger. Perfect fit!!

Tried these and the Cloudmonsters. The Bondi 8 was too narrow and felt more stiff than the cloudmonsters. Got the clouds instead and for my first run my legs barely felt fatigued, it was my breahthing holding me back when usually it's my legs tiring out! Hoping they get better once they properly break in. No idea why the Hoka's are so narrow and hard.

topo has so much potential but their lineup is really failing. I love upstarts like thta cuz you usually get way better materials and construction for your money, but many their lineup is just not compelling at all. lots of weird choices. Altra is failing too. like literally that company is losing so much money while all the big brands are booming. Medial posts are hogwash. Also 5 mm of drop? why not just get new balance? Like what are they offering other than ugly color schemes and the more natural shape I guess. The people want a zero drop shoe that's plush and cush without being bulky, actually flexible so it doesn't need a rocker, no rockers. Why is it hard? Yet the big brands are doing it better. imo 1080v12 is better than anything either of these guys are selling, and the more V4 is better than the V02 or the equivalent from topo. Also. Hoka Gaviota.

Topo > ASICS > Nike I was with ASICS for over a decade. Never once looked back at Nike. Now I’m all in on Topo

Thanks for the awesome video content. I prefer traditional stability running shoes due to over pronation (Medial post etc..) Kayano 29 was my favorite shoe for this but the Kayanos have changed a lot. In the current market which is the closest shoe to the Kayano 29? (NB 860 V12, Gt 2000 12 perhaps?)

Kayano 29 was better than Kayano 30. The latter was like running in an oversized rectangular sole. We don’t need HUGE soles Asics.

I have regular width, but I don't like any of my first 2 Hoka shoes. Returned both my skywardx too heavy and bondi8-D. they're way too narrow at the toe ( need 2EE wide).. this match 6 looks tight at the forefoot which could be the problem with your toenails, bye bye. Hoka is well known for the cushions; they're top-notch for recovery/pace runs. Keeping all my triump21, speed 3, ride17.

Ill never understand it

Bought these and did my first 15km run in them. I needed a shoe, mainly for running, nothing crazy, I run 3 times a week, 6km to 15km. They feel very solid. I weigh 100kg (220 lbs) and the seller told me these are a better option than softer ones because I weigh more.

Only illegal for top athletes. Nobody cares if I wear these and run a 5 hr marathon.

UA-cam reviewers really chat bollocks. For one reviewer the novablast is super firm and stiff and then the next reviewer says it’s super soft and bouncy. Then the nimbus is like walking on marshmallows and in the next it’s firm? Just go into a store and try the shoes do not listen to them

I have 400+ miles on my Olympus 2. The probably still have another 100 left in them but I'm itching to buy a new pair of daily trainers. I'm thinking of the Torin 7 just for a little change... Though the Olympus 2 has been good to me

Ryan i currently use the adrenaline GTS 21 . I have flat feet. What would you recommend as an upgrade. For a regular training shoe. Any brand.

Stinson's are freaking awesome for those with foot pain. It's sad they don't make them a bit wider. Hoka just can't seem to get the message. I would love to see a zero drop, wide toe box Hoka. They would crush Altra if they did. Altra can't get the quality correct and Hoka can't get the width perfectly correct!

Nah, HOKA are terrible running shoes. Do yourself a favour and bypass them at all costs. Get a good pair of Novablasts or something

For sports I am almost exclusively wearing Nike shoes for most of my life. The Peg 4 I own for about a year now and use them for all my jogging/hiking. I guess they have somewhat 1000km on the clock and they look and feel pretty unworn. In my humble opinion the best shoes Nike ever produced (for my lifestyle). Materials, grip, comfort, fantastic.

I am a dummy. I went in to get the Torin 7 and I walked out with the Via 2. It's nice. But I don't like the toe ie "late" rocker. But this boat of a shoe needs it because it has so little flex. It's stiff as many plated shoes with none of the energy return, so it needs that rocker to function essentially. I'd rather have it be flexible like the torin or the NB More V4 and without the rocker. I also think it would benefit from like 1 or 2 mm of drop to be honest, because many of these gimmicky "zero drop or nothing " shoes actually have a functionally negative drop. I'd like a gusset and I'd like other changes but its a decent shoe I guess. Fine for actually running in but... the rocker is just going to make your foot weak and unlike shoes that are stiff cuz they're springy these wont actually give you that boost so they're kind of dumb. I'd like better cushion in the heel and tongue in all shoes in general and just like softer and stretchy uppers. I just want something that fits and is comfortable. Any suggestions? I tried the Nimbus but even in 4E it didn't fit right but otherwise felt okay but too tight in the upper and not even as wide as 2E NB. Tried the 1080 v13 but the foam in the heel did this weird thing that felt like it hyperextends the knee so I was like nah, bye. Other than that they were good. The 1080 V12 is good tho. I have that. I'd like to try the more v4 as it's even more cush and plush, low drop, no rocker, and it's flexible asf. Suggestions would be welcome. I have OCD.

Thanks for the awesome content. Which is the best stability running shoe between NB 860v13 vs Glide 16 vs Gel Kayano 30? I'm looking for the best stability shoe as I'm an over pronator. I'm not too concerned about speed etc.. more of a durable, workhorse shoe that supports my overpronation over 15-20km daily runs.
